Presentation Plays "Who's the Boss?"

Box Score

ABERDEEN, S.D. (Jan. 25, 2008) –
Despite having three players score in double figures, the Northwestern College women's basketball team fell to conference foe Presentation College on Friday night by a 73-55 score. The Saints maintained a 36-19 lead at halftime and never looked back, riding the coattails of the UMAC's leading scorer in Callie Antonsen.

Northwestern made only eight of their 27 attempts (29.6 percent) in the first half, and rallied for a 50 percent mark in the second 20 minutes to compromise at 40.4 percent for the game. Presentation bested the Eagles at 43.4 percent, making 57.1 of their three-point attempts in the second half.

Katie Tuseth (White Bear Lake, MN/White Bear Lake High School) (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake), Kaelee Kendrick (Eagan, Minn./Bethany Academy) (Eagan, Minn./Bethany Academy) and Ariel Liesch (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) all scored 14 points for Northwestern, but the Eagles' 20 turnovers created trouble from the get-go. Liesch added 10 rebounds for a double-double. The sophomore was 6-of-14 from the field while dishing out five assists. Tuseth finished 5-for-8 on the night, adding three steals.

Antonsen scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to pace Presentation, followed by Chelsea Brandlee, who contributed 19 points in the Saints' win.

Northwestern (6-11, 4-2 UMAC) will continue their longest intra-conference road trip on Saturday, when they head to Morris, Minn. to play Minnesota-Morris. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
