Box Score

Menomonie, Wis., Sept. 12, 2007
– The Northwestern College volleyball team gave a valiant effort, including an extra-points second game, but was ultimately swept by Wisconsin-Stout 3-0 (30-22, 32-30, 30-22) on Wednesday night.

The Eagles were doubled up on kills, as UW-Stout followed Linda Meyer and Jenna Welsh and their 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Welsh's 11 kills came on 12 attempts, giving her an astounding.917 attacking percentage. Stout built up a strong .325 percentage as a team after nailing over half of their attempts in the second game to complete the three game sweep.

No one on NWC's squad was able to eclipse the ten-kill mark, as Kathryne Engel (Wayzata, Minn./West Lutheran) (Wayzata, Minn./West Lutheran) was the team's leader with eight kills.

Northwestern did finish stronger in blocking - something that Eagles' head coach Beth Wilmeth has become customary to this season. Overall, NWC held an 11-4 advantage in team blocks.

After the loss, Northwestern slips to .500 with a 5-5 record, while Stout improved to 6-3 in 2007.
