Adam Maronde begins his first year as Northwestern's Strength & Conditioning Coach in 2025. Coach Maronde works with all 16 of UNW's varsity sports teams, oversees the Ericksen Center weight rooms and staff, and works with Northwestern's Sports Medicine team to maintain and improve the overall health of the university's athletes.
Maronde has a long and accomplished history of helping athletes grow both physically as well as spiritually. A licensed Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), he most recently served as the Director of Advancement for Uncommon Sports Group in Minneapolis, prior to joining the UNW staff. In this role, Maronde oversaw USG's main efforts to grow the network of faithful leaders in the college and professional sports industry.
Prior to his time at Uncommon, Coach Maronde spent seven years as the Director of Performance for EXOS at the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center in Minneapolis. While at EXOS, he designed speed and performance training programs for athletes from the NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL and MLB, as well as Olympians. He also served as the EXOS Facility Manager and worked closely with the Mayo Clinic Orthopedics and Sports Medicine staff, which serves as UNW's orthopedics and sports medicine partner.
From 2009-2014, Maronde was the Strength and Conditioning Coach at Augbsurg University in Minneapolis. At Augsburg, he worked with 21 varsity programs and coached numerous NCAA All-Americans and national champions. Coach Maronde's strength and conditioning coaching résumé also includes time with the Minnesota Storm Greco-Roman wrestling team, the Seattle Mariners and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Maronde holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and a Master's Degree in Human Performance from UW-La Crosse. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Erika, and their four children, Emma, Samuel, Emmanuel and James. The Marondes make their home in Shakopee.
