Dave Erickson is entering his second year as an Assistant Coach on Tim Grosz's Men's Basketball staff, bringing an extensive background in the sport as both a player and coach.

Coach Erickson's coaching career began in 1990 as an Assistant Coach for the Men's Basketball team at Northwest Christian University in Oregon. His coaching journey has spanned the globe, including stops in Arizona, Singapore, China and Colorado between 1992 and 2021. In that time frame he coached every level from 5th grade through college, notably serving as Head Men's Basketball Coach at National University of Singapore from 2002-2007 and the same position at Raffles Junior College in Singapore from 2004-2005. He most recently was the High School Boys Varsity Head Coach at Colorado Springs Christian School from 2019-2021.

An accomplished athlete himself, Coach Erickson was a three-year letter winner for the Northwestern Men's Basketball team while also earning one Men's Soccer letter for the Eagles. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a minor in Health Education in 1991, and later went on to earn a Masters Physical Education (MPE) from Arizona State University in 2011.

While still in college in 1987, Coach Erickson first served on a Sports Ambassadors (SA) basketball team and experienced firsthand the sport he enjoyed being used as a powerful tool to help local churches bring the Gospel of the Savior he loved to many who had never heard. Since then, Erickson has served with SA, a ministry of One Challenge, by mobilizing and facilitating many teams, athletes and coaches (including many from UNW) to use their talents and passion for sports as a tool to serve the body of Christ in their endeavors to share the Gospel and disciple many in their communities.

Coach Erickson and his wife, Tracy, currently reside in Red Wing. They have four children - Kari (Anderson), Caleb, Josh and Amy, and two grandchildren.
