Certified Athletic Trainer, Health Care Administrator
Brent Cramer is in his 7
th year as an Athletic Trainer, and his first as the Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Northwestern. Cramer is a certified MOL, LAT, and ATC.
Brent is very versatile in his work with the injury prevention and treatment of student athletes at UNW. He is responsible for football, men's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, and baseball. Cramer also serves as an Athletics Health Care Administrator.
Cramer graduated from Bethel University with a bachelor of arts degree in athletic training in 2014. Cramer then earned his master's degree in organizational leadership from UNW in 2016. Cramer has showcased his athletic training pedigree outside of UNW, working with USA Volleyball and serving as a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainer's Association, Minnesota Athletic Trainer's Association, Twin Cities Orthopedics. He is also a licensed Athletic Trainer of the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Cramer also has experience in coaching, working as the graduate assistant coach for Men's Soccer from 2014-2015.
During the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, Cramer served as part of UNW's Emergency Response/Pandemic Team.
Cramer currently resides in Northeast Minneapolis with his wife Brittney and their two kids Adaline and Aiden.

Dave Hieb, M.Ed, LAT, ATC, Cert. DN
Certified Athletic Trainer, Assistant Professor, Head Baseball Coach
Dave Hieb is the longest tenured head coach at the University of Northwestern, starting his 27
th year leading the baseball program. Hieb is also starting his 33
rd year as an athletic trainer.
Dave graduated from The College of St. Thomas in 1988 with a degree in Physical Education. He also went to St Mary's University to earn his Sports Medicine / Master's Degree in Education.
Dave is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainer Association, Minnesota Athletic Trainers Association and The American Baseball Coaches Association. He has worked with the Minnesota Twins, Motor Racing Outreach Sports Medicine (NASCAR), Woodbury and East Ridge Athletic Association-Baseball and has been a featured speaker numerous times for the Minnesota High School Baseball Coaches Association and Numerous youth clinics throughout Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Dave is the father of two grown children – Anthony (24) and Alexa (21). Dave and his wife, Layne, have been married for 28 years. Their son was a 2018 UNW grad and their daughter will be graduating from MSU-Mankato in May 2020. His hobbies/interests involve athletics, trivia, Bible and 20
th Century American History.

Ashley Harich, ATC
Certified Athletic Trainer
Ashley is starting her first year with Northwestern as a Northwestern Alumna herself. She is a former softball student athlete, playing four years for the Eagles.
In 2015, Ashley graduated from UNW with a Bachelors in Kinesiology. She went on to further her education at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon where she earned her Master of Athletic Training degree in 2020.
After earning her graduate degree, Ashley joined Sanford Health; working with Worthington High School and Minnesota West Community and Technical College as an athletic trainer for the past three years.
