BECKER, Minn. - To say the University of Northwestern Women's Golf team feels right at home at Pebble Creek Golf Club would be quite an understatement. The site of Thursday's UMAC Preview is also the location of the annual UMAC Golf Championships, where the Eagles have won three-consecutive titles and four in the past five years. Thursday's results were, as they say, "par for the course" as UNW shot a team score of 316 (+28) to win by 29 strokes, had six top-10 finishers as well as the top four, including tournament medalist Bri Brandt (Blaine, Minn./Legacy Christian Academy).

Brandt got off to a scorching-hot start with a birdie on the second hole and an eagle on the par-five fifth, making the turn at one-under par and finishing at the top of the leaderboard with a 74 (+2). It matches her career-low and is the second individual win of the sophomore's career. Morgan Philyaw (Jordan, Minn./Jordan), fresh off winning Player of the Week honors from both the UMAC and the NCCAA, took the silver medal with a 77 (+5) that featured three birdies, while Paige Johnson (Zimmerman, Minn./Homeschool) overcame a slow start to finish in third with an 82 (+10). Brielle Lenz (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) closed out UNW's scoring squad with an 83 (+11) to put the sophomore in solo fourth place and give Northwestern the top four finishers in the field. With that in mind, the math to figure out the Eagles won the team crown is not too difficult. Ellie Rolland (Otsego, Minn./Rogers) and Hailey Nelson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Legacy Christian Academy), who teed it up as an individual, each tied for ninth with a pair of 88's (+16). Izzy Lee (Stillwater, Minn./St. Croix Prep) and Kylie Voight (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) also competed as individuals, turning in scores of 90 (+18) and 94 (+22), respectively.

The Eagles will have a week off before traveling up north to Superior, Wisconsin for the Twin Ports Collegiate on September 18th and 19th.
