ST. PAUL, Minn. - With the fall golf season in the rear-view, the University of Northwestern Women's Golf team finds itself ranked among the nation's best teams. Scoreboard (powered by Clippd), the home of college golf scores, results and rankings, has collaborated with the NCAA, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), and Professor Mark Broadie, the inventor of the "strokes gained" statistic, to create the National Collegiate Golf Ranking System. The system weighs several factors, including course difficulty, type of event, strength of field and strokes gained, to create rankings for each division of college golf.
