Despite getting broken early in the first game, Swigart and Kramer were able to keep their cools to get back on serve and win 6-4 at No. 3 after breaking their opponent's serve in the last game.
Keeping the energy flowing into singles, Haack (No. 1) got off to a 4-1 lead in the first set with some very strong baseline and net play. The junior won the first set and took a commanding lead in the second set to solidify a 6-1, 6-2 win. At No. 2, Jarchow started strong and never took his foot off the gas. Through his superb baseline rallies to finish points off with excellent volley placement, Jarchow stood solid, winning 6-2, 6-2. Kramer (No. 3) won his first set handily, and with an exciting point at 5-5 in the second set where Kramer returned a missile back, he secured a break point and won the match 6-2, 7-5. Thomforde (No. 4) cruised through his match, looking unbreakable and winning 6-0, 6-2. Majerus was also able to stay firm and win 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Lastly, at No. 6, Jacob Petrick (Omaha, Neb./Elkhorn North) was looking to complete the sweep of St. Mary's, though it proved harder than anticipated. Petrick entered a tiebreaker in the first set, and after a change of sides at 3-3, he showed his resilience, winning the tiebreaker 7-3. In the second set, he got off to a 4-1 lead and eventually saw himself serving for the match at 5-4. Petrick unfortunately was broken at deuce point, but he redeemed himself and broke his opponent's serve right back to win his match 7-6 (7-3), 7-5, and complete the sweep of St. Mary's.
