Four Eagles Recognized in UMAC Men's Tennis Awards

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference has released its 2026 Men's Tennis Awards, and the University of Northwestern was well-represented in the North Division category. Four Eagles in total were recognized, with two earning First Team All-Conference honors, one receiving Second Team recognition, and another on the All-Sportsmanship Team. Northwestern finished the conference season 3-1 to earn a share of the program's first regular season conference title.

Carson Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) makes his third appearance on the All-Conference First team in three years after a stellar 2026 season. The junior was named UMAC North Division Athlete of the Week twice, finished conference play with a 6-2 record, and the overall season with a 29-20 mark, including 18-7 at No. 1 doubles. He was joined on the First Team by Griffen Jarchow (Luverne, Minn./Luverne), who went 5-3 against UMAC competition this season and 25-23 overall to earn his third-straight First Team honor. The senior was also named UMAC North Division Athlete of the Week on March 17th. The final All-Conference member was Sam Majerus (River Falls, Wis./River Falls), who landed on the Second Team for the second-consecutive year after going 5-3 in the conference in 2026. The River Falls native put together a 25-19 record on the season, including going 16-7 with Haack at No. 1 doubles and earning the March 3rd UMAC North Division Athlete of the Week nod. Rounding out UNW's representation in the awards was Isaac Thomforde (Crookston, Minn./Crookston), who earned Northwestern's All-Sportsmanship Team spot.
