LEXINGTON, Ky. - After a one week hiatus, the University of Northwestern Volleyball team is once again receiving votes in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll. UNW did not receive any votes last week for the first time in several years, but returned to the mix after a massively successful weekend.
The full AVCA poll can be found
here.
Entering last weekend's UW-Oshkosh Triangular on a four-match losing streak, Northwestern found its rhythm. The Eagles swept St. Catherine in their first match of the event before upsetting No. 3 UW-Oshkosh on the Titans' home floor, gaining the attention of the nation. It was UNW's first ranked win of the season and they are currently scheduled to have two more opportunities in the regular season (No. 10 UW-Eau Claire and No. 21 Gustavus Adolphus).
The Eagles will begin UMAC play Friday night in the Ericksen Center, hosting UW-Superior in the UMAC Game of the Week. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
