ST. PAUL, Minn. - The University of Northwestern Women's Tennis team put its stamp on the 2025 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Tennis North Division Awards that were released on Tuesday. UNW had five players selected to the various All-Conference teams, as well as boasting the Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, who just so happen to come from the same household.

Abby Johnson's (Zimmerman, Minn./Homeschool) third and final season in purple saw her named UMAC Women's Tennis North Division Player of the Year after going 4-1 at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. Johnson was also named to the All-Conference First Team for the third time in as many years and was named UMAC North Division Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career on April 1st. Her sister,
Paige Johnson (Zimmerman, Minn./Homeschool), was also recognized by the conference's coaches as the North Division Rookie of the Year. Pulling double duty as a tennis player and golfer this spring, the sophomore went 3-2 at No. 2 singles, 2-0 at No. 1 doubles and 2-1 at No. 2 doubles in her debut season of UMAC tennis.
Northwestern's third and final member of the All-Conference First Team was
Caitlyn Swigart (Cottage Grove, Minn./Park), who made her return to the court in 2025 after a hiatus in 2024. The senior played in multiple spots throughout the conference season, finishing 2-0 at No. 4 singles, 1-2 at No. 5 singles, 2-0 at No. 2 doubles and 1-2 at No. 3 doubles. UNW's lone Second Team All-Conference representative was
Aby Ross (Chico, Calif./Central), who also earned Second Team honors in her freshman season in 2024. This year, Ross compiled a conference record of 1-0 at No. 3 singles, 2-1 at No. 4 singles, 2-1 at No. 1 doubles and 1-0 at No. 2 doubles. Rounding out the Eagles' representation in this season's awards as Honorable Mention was senior
Elise Jarchow (Luverne, Minn./Luverne), who finished UMAC play 3-1 at No. 3 singles and 3-1 at No. 2 doubles. Her impressive career concludes with four All-Conference selections and five UMAC Player of the Week awards, most recently on April 29th. Jarchow was also recognized as Northwestern's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team
