GREENWOOD, Ind. - A phenomenal 2024 season keeps getting better for University of Northwestern running back
Sivert Klefsaas (Motley, Minn./Staples-Motley), even as the calendar has turned well into 2025. Tuesday morning, College Sports Communicators named Klefsaas to its Second Team Academic All-America at the running back position, a culmination of excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

All Academic All-America nominees must have a GPA of 3.50 or better and meet high athletic standards. The nominees are a select group that come from the pool of CSC Academic All-District selections, and are voted upon by CSC members. An Academic All-American of the Year is selected in each sport and division (66 recipients), while an Overall Academic All-America Team Member of the Year is selected as the top student-athlete across all sports in each NCAA and NAIA division (4 recipients).
Klefsaas is the third Eagle football player to earn CSC (formerly CoSIDA) All-America status. Ben Greener was named to the Third Team in 2016 and Ben Lyons was a Second Team selection in 2017. He is also the only UMAC player to be selected to either team this season and is the fifth UNW student-athlete to be honored as a CSC Academic All-American in school history.
