UNW Football to Travel to UW-La Crosse for First Round Game

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The bracket is out and the UMAC-champion University of Northwestern Football team is making preparations for Saturday's First Round game of the 2024 NCAA Division III Football Playoffs. The Eagles learned their opponent and location on Sunday, when the NCAA Division III Football Selection Show quickly revealed that they would be heading to No. 18 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, runner-up in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conferece this season.

The entire 40-team bracket can be found here.

The matchup will feature the Eagles taking on...the Eagles for the first time in program history. The two teams have one common opponent this season in UW-Stout. The Blue Devils handed Northwestern its last loss of the season in a 56-19, week three loss, before UNW rattled off seven consecutive wins to close out the regular season. UW-La Crosse defeated Stout, who was receiving Top 25 votes at the time, 33-31 in a tight battle. This is the third time the Northwestern Football team has qualified for the NCAA Division III Playoffs (2016, 2022) and they are still searching for their first win.

Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 23rd at Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex. We will have more coverage throughout the week on unweagles.com and all of our social channels.
