ST. PAUL, Minn. – University of Northwestern Men's Tennis hosted University of Wisconsin-Superior on Sunday morning at the Johnson Tennis Complex for a conference contest. The Eagles fell 8-1 to the Yellowjackets as UWS secured the UMAC North Division Regular Season Championship.
In doubles, UW-Superior earned all three points. The Yellowjackets took the #2 doubles match 8-4. The #1 and #3 doubles matches both went to tiebreakers, with both falling the way of UWS.
In singles,
Jacob Weddle (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) earned a win at #2 singles for the Eagles with a 6-4, 6-2 victory. However, the Yellowjackets won the other five singles matches. UNW and UWS went to a third set in both #3 and #4 singles, but UW-Superior earned wins in both.
Up next, Northwestern will host Bethany Lutheran College on Monday, April 24 at 6:00 p.m. as the Eagles celebrate senior day.
