ST. PAUL, Minn.- The University of Northwestern Women's Track and Field Team headed to Macalester on Saturday afternoon for one final tune up before the UMAC Championships next weekend. In their final tune-up of the spring, the Eagles turned in a lot of really strong performances.
Deanna Trucksess (Spirit Lake, Iowa/Spirit Lake) continues to impress in her inaugural collegiate track and field season. The freshman added another win to her resume on Saturday when she won the 200m dash. Trucksess ran a blistering time of 27.26 seconds and won the race by over a tenth of a second. Trucksess will be one of the favorites in the sprinting events at the UMAC Championships next weekend. Trucksess also finished in second place in the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.64 seconds.
Megan Nowak (Athens, Wis./Athens) ran the 100m dash for the Eagles and finished 12
th with a time of 14.36 seconds. Nowak also competed in the 100m Hurdles and finished sixth with a time of 18.03 seconds.
Gracia Widman (Moville, Iowa/Woodbury Central) competed in the 800m dash and turned in a season best performance with a time of 2:45.55.
The Eagles did put together a team to compete in the 4x100 relay. The team of

Megan Nowak (Athens, Wis./Athens),
Gracia Widman (Moville, Iowa/Woodbury Central), and
Deanna Trucksess (Spirit Lake, Iowa/Spirit Lake) finished with a time of 56.42 seconds.
In the field,
Sydnie Castor (Henderson, Minn./Grace Christian) threw a distance of 7.23m in the shot put and recorded a career best in the discus throw with a distance of 25.32m.
The Eagles will now begin preparations for the UMAC Championships that begin on Friday, May 6
th.
