LA CROSSE, Wis. – At the final chance meet hosted by the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, two University of Northwestern athletes took one last opportunity to improve their marks before the end of the season.
Senior Emery Maki (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) competed in the 800m while Lily Hubbard (Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes) represented the Eagles in the high jump.
Maki, no stranger to high-pressure races, delivered another standout performance in the two-lap event. In the final meet of her collegiate career, she further cemented her place among the best runners in Northwestern history by breaking her own school record set last year. This is the sixth UNW record that the Hibbing native owns. Maki finished second in her heat and 10th overall with a time of 2:14.38.
Hubbard cleared 1.49m (4' 10.5") in the high jump to place 19th overall.
The meet wrapped up the 2026 outdoor campaign and marked the end of a remarkable collegiate career for Maki.
