SIOUX CENTER, IA.- The University of Northwestern Women's Track and Field team was back in action on Saturday afternoon as they competed in the Dordt Invitational.

Deanna Trucksess (Spirit Lake, Iowa/Spirit Lake) performed very well in the sprinting events against extremely strong competition. The freshman finished in 9^th place in the 100m dash with a time of 12.97 seconds. Trucksess also came in 9^th in the 200m dash by running a 27.63. The freshman rounded out her day with a 12^th place finish by running a time of 1:03.23 in the 400m dash.

The 800m race saw two Eagles finish back to back. Emma Mehl () finished in 11^th place with a time of 2:51.53 and Gracia Widman (Moville, Iowa/Woodbury Central) came in right behind her teammate in 12^th place by running a 2:51.78.

Megan Nowak (Athens, Wis./Athens) once again performed well in the 100m hurdles event by finishing in 11^th place with a time of 17.70 seconds.

The Eagles did very well in the 3000m steeplechase event as they finished with the top two finishing times. Gracia Widman (Moville, Iowa/Woodbury Central) won the event for the first time this season by running an impressive time of 14:36.42. Megan Nowak (Athens, Wis./Athens) finished second by running a 16:31.78.

Sydnie Castor (Henderson, Minn./Grace Christian) competed in the throwing events for the Eagles and threw a distance of 7.81m in the shot put.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, April 9^th at the St. John's Invite in Collegeville, Minnesota.
