MADISON, Wis. – The University of Northwestern men's lacrosse team traveled to Edgewood College for a battle of Eagles vs. Eagles on Saturday. UNW fell to the Edgewood Eagles 10-8.
Isaac Geurink (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) and
Sam Moses (Wasau, Wis./Wasau East) each scored for Northwestern in the opening quarter, but Edgewood scored thrice for a 3-2 lead after 15 minutes of play.
In the second quarter, the Eagles surged to score four goals and took a 6-5 lead into halftime. Geurink and Moses each scored their second goals of the game in that quarter, while
Khoa Vu (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee) and
Bryce Schmidgall (Hancock, Minn./Hancock) each scored their first of the day.
After halftime, Edgewood rallied and overtook UNW, outscoring Northwestern 5-2 in the second half.
Andrew Skoglund (Northfield, Minn./Homeschool) and
Joseph Will (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) scored the two second-half goals for UNW.
Up next for the Eagles is a road trip to Milwaukee to take on the MSOE Raiders starting at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 23.
