EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The University of Northwestern women's lacrosse team traveled to Wisconsin on Wednesday to take on the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds. The Eagles fell 19-4 in the match.
Maddie Nimmo (Somerset, Wis./Hill-Murray) led the Eagles with two goals scored in the contest, making back-to-back goals in the opening quarter.
Emma Ruegemer (Cold Spring, Minn./Eden Valley-Watkins) assisted Nimmo with the second of the two goals.
Abby Scheel (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) added a third UNW goal in the third quarter in an unassisted effort.
Samantha Wiebold (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) added a fourth and final Northwestern goal with just 37 seconds remaining in the game.
Cara Smith (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) and
Abby Carlisle (Minneapolis, Minn./Hope Academy) led the Eagles with three ground balls each. Smith recorded a team-high two caused turnovers for UNW.
Up next for the Eagles is a trip to Edgewood with the opening draw scheduled for 12:00 P.M. on Saturday.
