SUPERIOR, Wisc.- For the second season in a row, the UMAC Women's Soccer Postseason Tournament Championship took place in Superior, Wisconsin with the #1 seed UW-Superior hosting the #2 seed UNW. The top seeded Yellowjackets defeated the Eagles 6-0 to win the UMAC Postseason Tournament Championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
The Yellowjackets got their offense going early in the contest scoring their first goal of the game in the 11
th minute and added another goal less than ten minutes later. After reaching the halftime break with Superior leading 2-0, the home team would add four more goals in the second half to win the championship game 6-0.
Reagan Flaschberger (Shoreview, Minn./Centennial) made seven saves between the pipes for the Eagles.
Megan Moeller (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Christian School) led the Eagles with three shots while
Megan Kohrt (Monona, Wis./Homeschool) and
Mya Chan (Brandon, S.D./Homeschool) added two shots apiece.
The Eagles finish their season 2022 season with an overall record of 11-9-2. UNW finished second overall in the UMAC regular season standings with an outstanding record of 10-2-2. After finishing the regular season in second place, the Eagles hosted the #3 seed Bethany Lutheran Vikings in the UMAC semifinal earlier this week. The Eagles defeated the Vikings 1-0 with a last second, penalty kick save to send them to the conference championship game.
