BECKER, Minn. – University of Northwestern Men's Golf competed in the opening round of the 2022 UMAC Championship on Thursday. The Eagles jumped out to an eight-stroke lead after the first day, shooting a 314 (+26). The top four UNW golfers who's scores counted for their team total each finished in the top seven overall.
Day One Results
Crown holds second place after the opening round with a 322 (+34). Bethany Lutheran rounds out the top three with a 329 (+41).
Shane Seiffert (Corcoran, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) leads the Eagles after one round, shooting a 75 (+3). Not only leading UNW, the freshman is tied with Brady Raph of Minnesota Morris for the overall lead atop the entire field of 40 golfers.
Max Wilcox (Danville, Iowa/Danville) is currently fourth overall at the championship, shooting a 77 (+5).
Anthony Moscoso (Maple Grove, Minn./Maranatha Christian Academy) and
Luke Bogdonovich (Greenwood, Wis./Loyal) are both tied with four others for seventh overall with an 81 (+9) after the opening round.
Jackson Nyhus (Henning, Minn./Henning) shot an 87 (+15) and sits at 24
th overall with two more rounds to go.
Up next for Northwestern is day two of the UMAC Championship. The Eagles will return to Pebble Creek Golf Club on Friday to compete in the second round of the three round championship.
