Eagles Finish Runners-Up for 2020-21 Kruse Award

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The University of Northwestern finished the 2020-21 season as the runner-up for the Kruse Award, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference announced on Thursday. The award, which is named after Mr. Jerome Kruse, a longtime athletic director at the former Northwestern College (Wis.) and Martin Luther College, travels to the full-member institution with the most points accumulated by the place finishes of the college's athletic teams in the final standings of 18 conference sponsored sports.

The Eagles finished the season with 98.5 team points, trailing St. Scholastica by just four points in the standings. UNW claimed the conference crown in Volleyball, Women's Tennis, and Baseball, who secured their first UMAC Baseball Championship since 1996. The Eagles were also a Tri-Champion in Women's Basketball. UNW finished second in Men's Basketball and Men's Golf, as well as third in Women's Golf, Men's Tennis, Softball, and Men's Outdoor Track and Field.
