Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Home Opener against Hamline

ST. Paul, Minn. – The University of St. Paul Women's Lacrosse team hosted their 2021 home opener on Saturday evening against Hamline University, falling 15-4.

Talia Sherry (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) led the Eagles with a hat trick, scoring twice in the first half and once more in the second. The senior leads UNW with nine goals on the season.

Samantha Wiebold (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) scored the fourth Northwestern goal with 7:50 remaining in the contest. The goal was the first of the year for the junior.

Cara Smith (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) forced three Piper turnovers. Maren Reu (Watertown, Wisc./Watertown) and Sherry had two caused turnovers each.

Smith and Sherry shared the Eagle team lead with eight ground balls apiece.

Next up for Northwestern is an away game at UW-River Falls on Tuesday, April 6, at 7pm.
