SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Eagles women's basketball team closed the year off with their final game in California against the undefeated Mustangs of The Master's University. UNW was not able to overcome TMU as they fell to the Mustangs 63-32.
 
It was an early 10-0 run for TMU in a first quarter that saw the Mustangs shoot 44 percent from the field. The Eagles clawed their way for points but finished the quarter down 18-5.
 
UNW started off the second quarter hot with a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to eight points. The Mustangs would battle back, but the Eagles would match them point for point. Both teams would score 12 points each to put the game at 30-17 going into halftime. UNW capitalized on TMU's 14 turnovers as 10 of their 17 points would come off turnovers.
 
The Mustangs showed why they were undefeated as they continued to build their lead in the second half. The Eagles were unable to crack the defense of TMU as they fell 63-32.
 
Lexi Hagen (Jordan, Minn./Jordan) led UNW in points with 12, as well as rebounds as she hauled in eight. Right behind her in both categories was Megan Roberts (Greeley, Colo./Dayspring Christian Academy) who scored six points while bringing in five of her own rebounds.
