Eagles Drop First UMAC Game of the Year to Undefeated Wisconsin-Superior

ST. PAUL, Minn.- The UNW Women's Soccer Team finally returned to the friendly confines of Reynolds Field for the first time since September 22nd on Friday night. After playing their first five conference games of the season on the road, the Eagles hosted the visiting Yellowjackets of Wisconsin-Superior in their UMAC Home Opener. Superior won the game, 3-0.

The Eagles played good soccer despite the score, and that is evident from the shot totals. The Eagles won the shot battle 14-7, and the shots on goal total 10-4. Jenna Lang was very strong in net for the Yellowjackets, making 10 saves and keeping the Eagles out of the net.

Megan Moeller (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Christian School) was the most active offensive player for Northwestern, firing four shots and all of them were on goal. Kaylin Strike (Hanover, Minn./Buffalo) and RJ Mullin (Temecula, Calif./Rancho Christian) were also aggressive on offense for the Eagles, each getting off two shots. Trae Modaff (Monticello, Minn./Monticello) and Emily Currie (Minneapolis, Minn./Home School) each fired a shot a piece.

Wisconsin-Superior got their goals in the 16th, 53rd, and 71st minutes. The Yellowjackets move to 6-0 in conference play, and the Eagles drop to 5-1 as this was a matchup between the two top teams in the standings.

The Eagles will be able to bounce back quickly, as they are back in action tomorrow afternoon at 4:30pm against Northland at Reynolds Field once again.
