ST. PAUL, Minn. – Following a lengthy process in an attempt to compete this Fall, the University of Northwestern has made the difficult decision to suspend varsity football competition until Spring 2021. A lack of competitor opportunities and the contact-based, high risk nature of the sport led to this decision.
 
Modified Fall football practices and activities will continue to occur as scheduled as UNW football student-athletes will report to campus on Monday, August 17 as previously scheduled.
 
At this time, Northwestern will continue to pursue Fall semester competition in golf, cross country, volleyball and soccer. For more information, please contact the Northwestern athletic office. All updates related to athletic schedules will be posted on www.unweagles.com.
