Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Unable to Defeat Nebraska Wesleyan

FARGO, N.D. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team was back on the pitch this afternoon facing another tough opponent. Playing their second game of the weekend, the Eagles took on Nebraska Wesleyan.

From the first whistle, competition was intense, as both teams came out ready to play. The Eagles defense worked together as Nebraska took shots on net. Taylor Brinkman (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) and Ellyn Boland (Marshalltown, Iowa./Marshalltown) proved their expertise in leading the defensive line. UNW connected passes while running the sidelines to take chances on goal. Emily Daubenmier (Kijabe, KE./Rift Valley Academy) and Emily Currie (Minneapolis, Minn./Homeschool) held a strong midfield presence along with many other players. Linley Norman (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) had opportunities up top but was not able to capitalize.

First half resulted in tough shots made by Nebraska as they went up 4-0. The Eagles did not give up and continued to play hard.

Second half proved their consistency as the Eagles didn't give up. Their performance was impressive as a high level of play continued. Nebraska Wesleyan was able to sneak in one more goal on the Eagles.

The Northwestern Eagles hold their heads high and look forward to taking on St. Kates next Saturday.
