Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Loses Tough Battle with Central

PELLA, IA. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team traveled to Central College this Wednesday to play their second game of the 2019 season.

The Eagles went down early but put up a good fight to stay in the game. Central scored three goals to end the first half, while holding a strong defense, not allowing many goal scoring opportunities for the Eagles.

The second half started strong as Emily Currie (Minneapolis, Minn./Homeschool) scored her first goal of the season on a penalty kick to put UNW on the board. The Eagles then came alive taking ten shots, six of which were on net. Central came back to score one more before the end of the game. The Northwestern women didn't give up as Emily Daubenmier (Kijabe, KE./Rift Valley Academy) tabbed the Eagles' second goal off an assist from Danielle Roberts (Hastings, Minn./Hastings).

Northwestern looks to recover quickly as this coming weekend entails a tournament at Concordia Moorhead.
