ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The University of Northwestern men's tennis team welcomed Martin Luther College to St. Paul for Friday afternoon conference action. The Eagles downed the Knights, 9-0 to improve to 7-6 on the year and 2-0 in conference play.
The Eagles dropped just seven games in doubles action to cruise to three wins before winning all six singles match-ups.
Landon Ridpath (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) dropped only a single game at no. 1 singles and
Davis Pfaff (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and
Tyrus Studer (Rapid City, S.D./Rapid City Stevens) clinched third set tiebreak wins.
The Eagles 9-0 win is their second straight as they prepare to welcome St. Thomas University on Tuesday, April 9. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
