MONMOUTH, ILL. – The University of Northwestern women's lacrosse team traveled to Illinois to take on Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) foe Monmouth College. This was the Eagles last MWLC contest for the season, and they pick up the 15-12 win. With the victory, UNW improves to 8-6 overall and 7-6 in conference games.

Logan Retzlaff (St. Peter, Minn./St. Peter) and Talia Sherry (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) each scored two goals early in the first half to help Northwestern jump out to an early 4-0 lead. The Fighting Scots would answer back, and take a 6-5 lead late in the half. Hannah Shands (Hugo, Minn./Mahtomedi) was able to net a goal for UNW and tie the game up before halftime.

The second half was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, with each team going on scoring runs. The Eagles were able to get the upper hand in the end, outscoring the Scots 9-7 in the second half.
