Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Falcons on Senior Night

ST. PAUL, MINN. – On senior night the University of Northwestern men's lacrosse team hosted the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons for their final home game of the season. The Falcons sit atop the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) standings with an undefeated record in conference play. The Eagles looked hand CUW their first conference loss of the season in the two program's first-ever meeting, but the Falcons were too much to handle. With the 18-2 loss, UNW falls to 7-6 overall and 4-6 in MLC contests.

The first half was dominated by the Concordia, as they hopped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first quarter. They did not slow down in the second, as they tallied another seven goals to take the 12-0 lead into halftime.

The second half slowed down, as the Eagles were able to find the scoring column twice. The Falcons were still able to net six goals of their own, however. Sophomore Chase Marlenee (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) scored the lone two goals for the Eagles to go along with six ground balls. Zach Shockency (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) tallied 12 saves in his final home game in net for UNW.

Northwestern will end their season this Saturday, April 27 traveling to Fontbonne University. For all things Eagle lacrosse, fans can visit www.unweagles.com and follow @unw_lacrosse on Instagram.
