ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The University of Northwestern men's tennis team welcomed Crown College to St. Paul for the Eagles conference and home opener Tuesday evening. Despite a slight delay due to rain, the Eagles resumed play to record a 9-0 victory over the Storm.
UNW kicked off Tuesday action by winning all but a single game in doubles play. Northwestern continued to dominate in singles action, dropping nine total games as
Davis Pfaff (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove),
Austin Bricker (Arroyo Grande, Calif./Arroyo Grand) and
Isaac Velgersdyk (Savage, Minn./Southwest Christian) won handily at 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles improve to 6-6 overall this season and 1-0 in the UMAC. They will return to play on Saturday, April 6 when they welcome Martin Luther to St. Paul for an 11 a.m. conference match-up.
