ORLANDO, FLA. – The University of Northwestern men's tennis team concluded their play in Orlando Monday morning, falling to Transylvania University 6-3 to snap their three-match win streak and finish the week of play in the Florida heat at 3-2. The loss moves the Eagles to 5-4 in non-conference action.

UNW had a mixed bag of results in doubles action to kick off play for the day. The team's first two pairings had a tough go of it, but the duo of Colton Paskewitz (Browerville, Minn/Staples) and Matthew Wedin (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield Senior), competing at the no. 3 spot, won handily in an 8-1 decision.
Northwestern then faced some tough competition in singles play, outlasting their opponents in two of the six matches played. The freshman, Wedin, picked up his second win of the day in a match that went the distance (1-6, 6-0, 10-6) at the five position and Isaac Velgersdyk (Savage, Minn./Southwest Christian) picked up a victory (6-3, 6-0) at no. 6.
