Box Score WHITE BEAR LAKE, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team dropped a close 5-4 match to Edgewood College at Lifetime Fitness tennis courts Saturday afternoon. The Eagles jumped out to win two matches in doubles play at the No. 1 and 3 slots, but fell in four of six singles matches. Edgewood women's tennis has won 11 straight (including fall play).

The no. 1 pairing of
Nikki Paskewitz (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) and
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) pulled through in a back-and-forth doubles match, winning 8-7 (9-7). The no. 3 pairing of
Rachel Lukkarila (Becker, Minn./Homeschool) and
Jessica Gross (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy) also tacked on a win after recording an 8-6 victory.
Senior
Nikki Paskewitz (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) continued her impressive weekend on the court – winning at No. 1 singles in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. Paskewitz earned four wins during weekend action.
Shawna Spears (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) won the Eagles only other match in singles play, cruising to a 7-5, 6-2 win.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, March 2 in St. Peter, Minn. The day will feature a pair of duals as UNW faces Morningside College and Gustavus Adolphus.
