Box Score WHITE BEAR LAKE, MINN. – The University of Northwestern men's tennis team defeated Saint Ambrose University (Iowa) in Friday night action at Lifetime Fitness tennis courts. The win hands the Eagles their first victory of the season, moving UNW to 1-2 early on in non-conference action.

UNW kicked off the match by securing two of three doubles matches at the first and second pairings. The Eagles dropped just three games combined in the pair of wins.
Northwestern then clinched the match victory in singles play, coming out on top in four of the six matches played. The leaders of the team secured dominant victories at the one and two positions, as Landon Ridpath (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) and Davis Pfaff (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) dropped just four and three games respectively in straight set wins.
At the fourth spot, freshman Tyrus Studer (Rapid City, S.D./Rapid City Stevens) orchestrated an impressive come-from-behind win (5-7, 6-2, 10-3) to grab the fifth and clinching point to secure the match.
