ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday afternoon. The University of Northwestern landed two volleyball players on this week's list. Senior middle blocker,
Anna Gasch (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock), was awarded the Offensive Player of the Week nod, while
Sydney Schwitters (Clara City, Minn./MACRAY) picked up the Setter of the Week award. Schwitters earns the award for the third time this season and eighth time in her career.

Anna Gasch (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock) -- Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
Gasch led the Eagles to four, straight-set wins at the North Jersey Challenge. She recorded 37 kills (3.1 kills/set) and hit an impressive .371 average. Gasch was named to the All-Tournament Team after also adding eight blocks (.67/set) to her weekend stat line.
Sydney Schwitters (Clara City, Minn./MACRAY) -- Volleyball Setter of the Week
The sophomore setter dished out 113 assists (9.42 assists/set) as UNW went 4-0 at the North Jersey Challenge (all straight set wins). Schwitters tacked on two double-doubles and averaged 2.75 digs/set. In addition to her assists and digs, she also had six kills and three service aces in weekend play.
Northwestern will return to action on Oct. 23 when they welcome UW-Superior to the Ericksen Center. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
