Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Downs Superior, 94-70 on the Road

SUPERIOR, WIS. – The University of Northwestern men's basketball team hit the road to take on the UW-Superior Yellowjackets in Wednesday night conference action. The Eagles, who entered the second half leading by just seven points, shot 10 of 14 from three-point range in the final 20 minutes to run away with it and record a 94-70 win.

The Yellowjackets were first to score, but Northwestern never trailed by more than a basket. The Eagles put together a nine-point run to go up 40-33 at the half.

Superior came out firing, balancing the score at 40 apiece before the Eagles' outside shooters put an end to it all. Noah Alm (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) knocked down five of six shots from three-point range in the second half alone, while Noah Hill (Denton, Tex.) came off the bench to add a quick two and Brady Peterson (Princeton, Minn./Homeschool) and Anderson Bazile Jr. (Houston, Tex./San Antonio Reagan) each connected on one from long range.

In addition to their solid shooting, Northwestern turned the ball over just one time in the second half (five times in the game) and got off 25 more shot attempts than the Yellowjackets.

With the win, the Eagles improve to 9-6 overall and 5-1 in the UMAC. UW-Superior falls to 2-13 on the year, 1-6 in conference action. Northwestern leads the all-time series against Superior, 12-8.

Anderson Bazile Jr. (Houston, Tex./San Antonio Reagan) led UNW offensively with 21 points on the night. Brady Peterson (Princeton, Minn./Homeschool) and Noah Alm (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) each added 15 points. Peterson shot seven of 10 from the field and added three steals and three assists.

Caleb Hageman (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) finished with 12 points on the night and pulled down seven boards. 14 Northwestern players saw action in the contest and an impressive 43 points came from the Eagles' bench.

UNW will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 12 when they welcome Martin Luther to the Ericksen Center. Tipoff is slated for 4:45 p.m. against the Knights.
