ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team hosted the Pioneers of Carroll University (0-2-1, 0-0 CCIW) in the second game in consecutive days. With the draw, the Eagles move to 0-2-2 on the season.
Neither team was able to get much offense going in the first half, with the score being 0-0 entering halftime. The Pioneers outshot the Eagles 11 to two, but the Northwestern defense held strong.
Carroll kept up the pressure in the second half, again outshooting Northwestern eight to two, but the Eagle defense did not break. Regulation ended with the score remaining 0-0.
The Eagles offense picked up in the short overtime periods, but they failed to finish any of their shots. The game ended in a draw between the two teams. Offensively, the Eagles totaled six shots. On the defensive side of the ball, keeper
Samantha Colombo (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) tallied 10 saves for the Eagles.
