Women’s Soccer Drop Home Match to the Pipers, 2-0

ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team hosted Hamline University in a Thursday evening match. The Eagles (0-2-1, 0-0 UMAC) fell by a final score of 2-0 to the Pipers (2-1-1, 0-0 MIAC).

In the first half, the Eagles were able to fire off eight shots at the Piper defense but failed to find the back of the net. The UNW defense held strong for most of the half until Hamline was able to score the lone goal of the period, taking a 1-0 lead into intermission.

Northwestern's offense slowed down in the second half, only getting off two shots. The Pipers were able to lock down the win, scoring another goal to take the 2-0 lead. They would were able to hang on to the lead, as Northwestern was not able to get on the board.

The Eagles compete again Friday afternoon, taking on the Carroll University Pioneers. For more information, fans can visit www.unweagles.com or follow @unwwsoc on Twitter and Instagram.
