SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Northwestern – St. Paul women's soccer team (3-4-2, 2-1-0 UMAC) picked up a strong 2-1 win against Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opponent, University of Wisconsin-Superior (1-4-1, 1-2-0 UMAC).
The Eagles took the field looking to attack. Less than four minutes into the game,
Linley Norman (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) tallied the first stat of the game, a goal. Assisting the goal was
Emma Baker (Temecula, Calif./Rancho Christian).
Northwestern continued to fire shots throughout the first half. The squad racked up 14 shots and 11 shots on goal. Norman ended the half in the same way she began and tallied another goal for the contest.
On the defensive end, the Eagles held Yellowjackets to zero shots during the first half and led 2-0.
UNW continued to power through the second half. The Eagles tallied another 14 shots (8 SOG) and held the Yellowjackets to four shots (3 SOG). Despite strong efforts, Northwestern was unable to hold UW-Superior to a scoreless contest, as they scored with less than two minutes left in the game.
