ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team hosted the Gustavus Adolphus College Gusties (3-2-0, 0-0-0 MIAC) in a non-conference evening contest. Gustavus defeats Northwestern by a final score of 2-1. With the loss, UNW moves to 1-3-2 on the season (1-0-0 UMAC).
The Gusties were able to strike first in the opening period, scoring a goal under 20 minutes into the game and another in the final minute of the half. Northwestern was able to fire five shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net. Gustavus held a 2-0 leading entering intermission.
Sophomore forward
Anna Welch (Lakeville, Minn./Homeschool) was able to get the Eagles on the board in the second half, scoring a goal with under 10 minutes to play to bring the score to 2-1. Northwestern kept up the pressure in the final minutes of play, but failed to tally another goal.
