ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern men's soccer team (1-1, 0-0 UMAC) hosted the St. Olaf College Oles (1-1, 0-0 MIAC) in their home opener this afternoon. The Eagles were able to pick up a 2-1 win over the Oles, improving their record to 1-1 on the season.
In the first half, freshman forward
Grecia Burns-Cadotte (Minneapolis, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's) led the offense for UNW. Burns-Cadotte was able to find the back of the net twice on two shots, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead entering intermission.
St. Olaf was able to get on the board midway through the second half, but the Northwestern defense would hold strong to secure the victory. In goal for the Eagles was freshman
Aidan Lynch (Glendora, Calif./Western Christian), who was able to tally 10 saves on the contest.
