Football to Open Season at Home vs. Central

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Northwestern football program will kick off its 2018 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 1 by defending the home turf at Reynold's Field. The Eagles will take on a young but competitive Central Dutch team – the first ever match-up in school history. UNW Head Coach Matt Moore begins his second season at the helm.

Northwestern, who finished 6-4 overall last season, returns several key players including Nick Swore (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian) who ended the 2017 season with a top-ten nationally ranked seven interceptions and All-Conference, All-Region and All-American nods. The Eagles enter Saturday's home opener having compiled an impressive 17-3 record on their home turf since its inception in 2014. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
