Men's Tennis Wraps Up 2018 Season At First-Ever NCAA Tourney

ST. PETER, MINN. - The University of Northwestern men's tennis team (13-11, 5-1 UMAC) had its program-best season come to an end Thursday afternoon, as the Eagles fell to the No. 40-ranked Coe College (25-5, 8-0 IIAC) 5-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Northwestern 0, Coe 5

UWW - who secured its first-ever NCAA Tournament bid - faced some tough competition as CC snatched all three doubles matches (8-4, 8-4, 8-0) from the Eagles right off the bat. The dominant force by Coe continued, as they went on to tally wins against two more Northwestern competitors in singles play to overtake them 5-0.

The squad will say it's final farewell to CJ Lloyd (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View), who finished off his senior season with a 13-11 record in singles and 12-12 in doubles at the No. 1 spot for UNW. The purple and gold will also say goodbye to Joshua Kimball (Waseca, Minn./Waseca), who topped of his final season in an Eagles uniform with a 15-9 singles record and went 16-8 in doubles, respectively.
