ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern men's tennis team dropped their first conference match of the season Friday night, falling to St. Scholastica by a score of 6-3. The loss drops UNW to 9-10 on the season.
The Eagles started off the night with doubles play, winning one of the three matches. They dropped two matches in very close 8-6 losses and
Joshua Kimball (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) and
Davis Pfaff (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove ) won 8-0 at the second position.
UNW then competed in some very tight singles matches, going to a third set tiebreaker in three of the six matches played. They took one of these matches that went to a tiebreak (Kimball winning at the third position). Pfaff also picked up a win (6-2, 6-4) at the six position.
