WHITE BEAR LAKE, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team won their second match of the week Friday night, defeating University of Wisconsin River Falls by a score of 7-2. The win moves the Eagles to 7-8 on the season.

UNW began the evening of action with doubles play, taking all three matches convincingly. The number one team of
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) and
Nikki Paskewitz (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) and the number two team of
Shawna Spears (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) and
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) both took care of business by a 8-2 score, and the number three team of
Jessica Gross (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy) and
Mafee Rinta (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) were victorious by a score of 8-1.
The Eagles continued the solid performance in the singles portion of play, claiming victories in four of the six matches. Paskewitz and Spears were especially dominant, winning 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0 respectively.
Northwestern will head on the road for their next matches, taking place tomorrow against St. Norbert and UW- Eau Claire in Eau Claire, Wis. beginning at 9am. Fans can head to unweagles.com to find more information on the team.
