OWATONNA, Minn. – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team captured an 8-1 win over Martin Luther College (3-6, 2-1) Tuesday morning it the conference opener. The Eagles improve to 6-8 on the year.
The Eagles got off to a quick start, building a 3-0 lead after doubles play and never looked back, as No. 2 through No. 6 singles all picked up wins, including Bridgett Zappe's impressive 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
Gracie LeBrun (Pine City, Minn./Pine City) was also impressive in victory, posting a 6-1, 6-3 win.
