RIVER FOREST, ILL. – The University of Northwestern men's lacrosse team defeated Concordia University Chicago (1-11 overall) in a Friday afternoon matchup by a final score of 11-3 in the "Windy City." With the win, the Eagles move to 5-4 on the season.
The Eagles held a 4-2 lead after the first quarter of play, with three different Eagles scoring. Steady defense and four unanswered goals in the second frame lifted UNW to an 8-2 advantage at the break. Northwestern continued their dominance in the second half of play, scoring three goals to the Cougar's one, securing the 11-3 victory.
Freshman
Christian Erickson (Buffalo, Minn./Delano) led the scoring for the Eagles with four goals and three ground balls. Sophomores
Keller Stephens (Lino Lakes, Minn./Mounds View) and Noah Vanderkooi each added three goals and one assist, respectively. Senior
Allen Hubert (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) was the fourth Eagle to get in the score sheet, with a single goal.
As a team, the Eagles totaled 32 shots (19 SOG), 20 ground balls, and went 10-for-13 on clears.
