ST. PETER, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team had a mixed bag of results Saturday in St. Peter, defeating Concordia-Moorhead and falling to Gustavus Adolphus. The results move the Eagles to 3-4 on the season.

To start off the first match of the day, the Eagles had a very strong showing in doubles action. All three Eagles doubles teams came away with victories, the second team of
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) and
Shawna Spears (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) being especially convincing in their 8-3 win.
UNW continued their success in the singles portion of play, taking five of the six matches played. At the fifth position
Jessica Gross (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy) earned a hard fought three set victory, winning 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-4).

Northwestern started off the day with some tough matches in doubles play, taking just five games total as a team in the three matches. The first team of
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) and
Nikki Paskewitz (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) led the way in taking three games in their match.
The Eagles were unable to get much going in the singles side of play either, taking just ten total games in the six matches played.
