ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern baseball team fell to the Macalester College Scots 12-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the second when
Carter Michaelson (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul) singled home
Aaron Krahn (Roseau, Minn./Roseau). The Eagles scored two more runs in the bottom of the seventh when
Eric Peterson (Coon Valley, Wis./Westby) singled home
Bradley Spencer (Papillion, NE/Papillion South) and then
Wyatt Morrell (Elk River, Minn./Homeschool) followed that up with a single to score Michaelson. The Eagles threatened both in the eighth and ninth but were unable to scratch across any more runs.
Wyatt Morrell (Elk River, Minn./Homeschool) and
Carter Michaelson (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul) each contributed 2 hits as they led the offense.
Ben Skolbekken (Andover, Minn./Anoka Ramsey CC) made his first collegiate start and then he was followed by
Nick Fladager (Eagan, Minn./Eagan),
Chad Wakabayashi (Waipahu,HI/Hanalani), and
Carter Michaelson (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul).
